Matt Dean is the CEO at Lustre Consulting, which he co-founded in 2009.

As CEO, Matt leads the strategic vision of the company and oversees the directional growth of a team who are critical to the smooth running of the company and its success.

Professionally, Matt is a Chartered Engineer and Environmental Consultant with 25 years’ experience in contaminated land, environmental consultancy and civil engineering. Throughout his career, Matt has supported many clients in property and construction, the public sector and heavy industry.

Matt’s greatest achievement has most certainly been the challenge of co-founding a fledgling start-up and seeing it grow into a thriving consultancy business.

Matt is driven by the growth and development of the people at Lustre Consulting, and to pass on his knowledge and experience, so clients can get the best possible service.  It is seeing this continuous improvement first hand that gets him out of bed each morning.

Matt loves the movies and remembers seeing the original Star Wars movie when it was first released… The ‘maverick’ movie directors like Lucas and Spielberg have inspired him in life and business ever since.

Ariel Rapson is the Office Manager and a member of the Leadership Team at Lustre Consulting, having developed her role since joining in 2014 as an administrator. As the company has grown, Ariel has developed procedures and policies to ensure our clients and team are supported. Providing organisational support to the team for all types of projects, Ariel is involved from project set up, to preparation of site work, through to issuing reports – all this means that Ariel is often well-informed for any project queries.

Ariel enjoys learning new things and has gained considerable experience of environmental consultancy and the planning process during her time with Lustre.  As a non-technical team member Ariel enjoys helping explain what we do and how we can support our clients.

Ariel helped Lustre to gain a Platinum Award through the Medway Healthy Workplace program for our commitments to employee wellbeing.

Outside of work Ariel is very involved with volunteering with experiences ranging from food banks, kids’ clubs, teaching, and projects abroad.

The thing that brings her the most joy is enabling people to thrive in their own unique skills.

Stephan Booi is a Principal Consultant who is responsible for the Acoustic Team at Lustre. He has versatile skillset in architectural, industrial, and environmental acoustics.

Stephan has experience in undertaking complex and high-profile projects for clients throughout the UK and abroad. This includes infrastructure projects for highways, airports and waste schemes; small and major residential development; and several industrial developments for blue chip companies.

Stephan enjoys a challenge and coming up with solutions. Under Stephan’s leadership, the Acoustics Team undertakes a wide variety work, ranging from noise assessments for planning and EIAs, architectural design reviews for compliance with Part E, BREEAM, BS 8233, HTM08, etc, industrial acoustics, construction noise and vibration assessments, and much more.

Outside of work Stephan spends most of his time with his family and enjoys riding his bike through the countryside.

Maddie Edwards is a Graduate Consultant that joined the Land Team at Lustre in 2023. Maddie’s role involves environmental monitoring, undertaking site investigations, researching the potential for contaminated land, writing reports and assisting on various projects.

Being new to Environment Consulting, Maddie is keen to learn as much as possible which she is enjoying very much. Her first solo project involved the examination of a site with fire damage, which provided unique issues to a contaminated land investigation.

Maddie studied Environmental Science at university due to her passion for sustainability and environmentalism. She hopes to make a difference to society and the environment outside of work, in addition to working on more remediation projects to improve environmental quality first hand.

Outside of work Maddie is a keen crocheter, music listener and dog lover. She enjoys learning new things, being out in nature and expressing her creativity in a variety of ways.

Toby Hill is a Consultant within the Land Team at Lustre. Toby is responsible for undertaking a variety of Contaminated Land and Waste Disposal Assessments, including WM3, Phase I and Phase II reports as well as supporting the wider team. Toby has spent two years in the industry before joining Lustre where he has managed a variety of contaminated land and geotechnical projects. Most notably these skills have been applied to support the delivery of a town-wide regeneration project including l residential and commercial sites built on brownfield sites.

Driven by an enjoyment of overcoming problems, Toby is focussed on delivering solutions for Clients that are both technically and economically efficient. By challenging perceived wisdom and scrutinising issues to their component parts, Toby is able bring a tailored and holistic route to getting projects approved and built.

On weekends Toby can be found travelling the country with his friends enjoying the natural environment, exploring urban landscapes and enjoying local bakeries.
